Go to Control Panel and click on Sound and Audio Devices Icon, then select the Sounds tab and you can alter the sound for any listed action in the Program events list, but the file must be a Wav file

    Hope it helps

Perhaps slipperystuff's using the category view in the control panel. If so, in the control panel, click "sounds, speech, and audio devices" and then click "change the sound scheme ".

If all else fails, type mmsys.cpl in the Start > Run window and press enter.
