    Hi there,

After doing a reinstall of win98se over the top. I can't browse any https site. I get a dns not found when I try to access Paypal also when I try to login at clickbank. My browser is I.E.6.

I have tried all the settings on the internet options under the advanced tab. I have disabled the fire wall. I have two computers networked that share the connection using microsoft I.C.S. The second computer has winxp with I.E.6 and is O.K.

Any help in regard to this matter would be much appreciated!!

    regards

    More questions than answers perhaps.......
Do you have the "Use http 1.1..." boxes checked in Internet Options?
Have you enforced any "parental controls" with a password under the "Content" tab?
Have you gotten all the IE updates at WindowsUpdate?
Do you have the SSL and TLS boxes checked in Internet Options?
    And, one more, I promise!
Which computer is connected directly to the internet, the one with the problem or the "second" one?

    Hi again,

The computer with the problem is the host that is connected to the net.

"Do you have the "Use http 1.1..." boxes checked in Internet Options? "
    Yes!

"Have you enforced any "parental controls" with a password under the "Content" tab? "
    No!

"Have you gotten all the IE updates at WindowsUpdate? "

I have not but I have never had this problem in the past it has happened only since trying to reinstall windows over the top. Which I had that many problems with that I had to revert back to the old settings and only since then have I had the problem.

Do you have the SSL and TLS boxes checked in Internet Options?
    Yes!

    Kind Regards

Try the Windows Updates. It may fix something. Someone who couldn't access WindowsUpdate itself was fixed up by installing the IE Cumulative Patch.
