I searched and couldn't find this question anywhere but it seems as if someone else should have the same problem so I apologize if I'm repeating.

I can't share the "Program Files" directory with my other networked computer. What is stopping it?

    I went to[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
and created the 'ForceGuest' Dword value of 0 to activate the advanced file system and sharing properties. No Luck.

The folder shows the supporting hand and all users have been granted full allow. I can see the shared folder name on the other computer but get an access denied every time.

Please, how can I stop Microsoft from protecting me from myself?

    WindowsXP - 2600 Corporate

    Thank you in advance.

If you have admin rights set up for the other PC, just connect to \\pcname\c$ which will give you access to the entire thing including program files.

Is the share name for program files the same as the folder name? If so, are you putting the thing in quote marks like "\\pcname\program files" ? If not the space will be messing you up.

Otherwise, please post the exact error you get when trying to connect to the share.
