When I try to open this one email, I get this error message: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create association in folder options control panel.

Name: news 9.20pdf.pdf.

Type: unknown type.

Can someone help me? I've never run across this before. Thanks .,

Hi, lbfoto. :)

My guess is the person that attached the file mistakenly included a period at the end of the filename. (I highlighted the offending period in red above.)

Try saving the attachment to some location on your hard drive and then rename it to
news 9.20pdf.pdf (without the trailing period). Then, when you double-click the file in Windows Explorer, it should open in Adobe Reader (assuming you have Adobe Reader installed).

Adobe Reader can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.

A word of caution here. Before you change the file name by eliminating the period or dot after the second pdf extension, download it (do not try to open it) and scan it with your antivirus program. Double extensions (in this case pdf.pdf.) are quite often used to mask viruses or other malware.

;)
