cant get it started

    hello all, i have a question concerning my dell desktop. upon starting it shows the dell title screen but after the loading bar is filled, the screen goes black with a blinking white line at the top. i ran a diagnostics scan from the f12 boot menu and it showed drive 0 passes but drive 1 shows no ide device. im not good at all with computers so if any one could help it would be greatly appreciated. thank you. dimension number 2400

    Please post the model no. of the Dell, e.g. Dimension xxx so we can try to identify the drive arrangement in the computer for a start.
