I have a Fujitsu C2330 notebook running Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, with SP2 installed.

Recently, I have noticed that I am unable to explore the contents of a DVD, CD or any other optical medium. Other removable drives work fine (i.e. USB, 3.5 Floppy, SD card).

Autoplay works, so when I insert a DVD I can play/view whatever media is on there through the appropriate player, but Windows explorer won't show me the overall contents.

Also, when I do right click the DVD drive, and select "Explore," the window that pops up shows me the contents of my desktop.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to solve this are much appreciated.

    Try one of these:
    1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
    or...
    2. http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip
    or...
    3. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
    You'll see two items:
    - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
    - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
