    Hi all,

I finally was able to do a repair to my friends computer. However, the drive letters have changed and a lot of progs. don't work because of the drive letter mung.

The C drive is now labeled C (F:)
The D drive is now labeled D (E:)

I cannot change anything in Disk Management. There's no option to change it, although when I try, the Assign Drive Letter is grayed out.

How do I get it back to C (C:)?

    @ Neil,

Believe it or not, I finally stumbled on an alternate way to repair XP, It said on the Setup screen and to click Install Windows (or something like that). Then, on the next screen, waaaay down the page was "Press R to repair ". I did and "it" did!!! Now all I have to do is dope out the drive letter assignment.

    @ James,

I'll check out your link tomorrow and post if I've made any progress.

    Thanks, guys.

Sorry for the tardy reply, but I fixed it. What I did was hookup the drive as Slave (with another HDD as master), booted up and let Windows assign the drive letters. Then I made the slave master again (with no slave) and the drive letters were reset to C & D, like they were supposed to be.
