Can't access anything

    My Toshiba laptop won't let me past the user account screen. I click on my user account (which is the only one), put in my password and it says 'logging on' then a split second later, says 'logging off'. The screen never navigates away from the login screen.

    I haven't tried to start it in safe mode yet because I'm not really sure what to do after I get it into safe mode.
