Error = Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express 4.01 or greater.

I can start Outlook Express 6.0 without a problem. However when I start outlook, I get the abovementioned error. Everywhere I search for a "fix" refers to 98 or to outlook 5. I have XPHome.

Thank you for your help, in advance

No, you shouldn't have to install an older version of OE.

Did this problem just start? Has Outlook been working a-ok on the system?

What version of Outlook do you have? There's a way to do a "repair" which might be a lot easier.

I have outlook 6. My Outlook XP was working perfectly, until I had problems with Internet Explorer, in fixing IE, after fixing IE, I found that my Outlook XP was affected. Please note, that my Outlook Express ver 6 works fine, although, when starting Outlook XP I get a error message saying that Outlook Express ver 6 is not installed, when, infact it is and working fine.

I am going to try and re-install Outlook XP tonight and see if that helps.
