Cannot import favorites - IE6

    I have IE6. Something happened and my drop down window for favorites changed. Whatever points to where the favorites folder is just changesd and I don't know why. I do have on my desktop a shortcut to the main favorites folder and I can see that all the folders and links are there,
    but I am not able to import that folder back into IE6.

    Also what does it mean when there is an astric in the middle of a folder icon?

    windowbug - Welcome to the Board :)

    New one on me, but try this .....

    Copy all your favourites from their current location to a folder on your hard drive, say My Favourites.

    Try an import - if that fails ....

    Download and install TweakUI for XP - assume your OS is XP - helpful to mention.

    Run Tweakui - left hand pane - My Computer > Special Folders. In the dropdown list select Favourites - Hit the Change location button and browse to the location of the My Favourites folder you made and apply.

    Your Favourites folder is at the new location.

    Always maintain a current backup of your Favourites, Cookies and Feeds (IE 7 only?) using File > Import/Export.
    Any specific folder? Not seen that - is it a folder for which you have changed the icon.
