Cannot download AVG

Hi

Forgot to add this to previous post. I tried installing AVG free edition on my pc and this message came up

Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avg7dos.lng: creating file....
Changing language to 67698688 failed.
General failure.

Not sure what this means and hope someone can help as I really do need a good free antivirus programme if possible, thanks.

Joan,

The first thing I would be to download the program again. It is possible something got goofed up in the first download. If that doen't help, post back.

I downloaded avg again and same thing - error message:

Is there another one I could try, possibly avast? or should I keep trying avg.

AVG INSTALLATION
IF ALL ELSE FAILS LETS GET RADICAL AND DO A COMPLETE NEW INSTALL STEP BY STEP

I did as you suggested, and found I had in fact some avg left on pc so got rid of it and downloaded again...........with success!

Glad everything worked out.
That is the primary reason why I continue to use AVG.
Even when their is a problem, the solutions are painless.
