I recently upgraded my internet from DSL to Cable. I have two computers connected to a Zonet wireless broadband router. They are connected with wire. Only one of the computers has a wireless card but it is disabled.

The problem is that I cannot get the internet through the router. I can only get online with the modem plugged directly into the computer.

Both computers worked fine when the router was connected to Dsl modem.

Although, at some point in time ( many moons ago) the home network was lost and I haven't been able to re-establish that connection. That hasn't been a major problem so I will save that for another time. Unless the two are related.

I tried using the ping commands as suggested in help. I checked to make sure that IP address and DNS server address are obtained automatically.

    What am I missing?

You probably got new IP addresses with the new service. Have you re-configured the router for that?

    Turn OFF modem & router.
Turn ON modem and wait until it syncs.
Turn ON router and let sync with modem.

This cycle MUST be repeated each time if you connect the modem directly to the comp because the modem associates itself with either the MAC address of the router or the MAC address of the comp net adapter. You cannot just switch the wiring and expect connections to work.
