Every couple of days following message appears:
"An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C15A8F91 in VxD PPPMAC(01)+00002131. This was called from 0028:C1835FC6 in VxD PPPMAC(04)+000048E6. It may be possible to continue normal etc. "

VxD PPPMAC(04)+000048E6 appears in each message. Pressing any key reverts screen to last image. Using ME, IE 5.5 with dial up connection. Have removed dial up configurations and manually reinstalled them without success. Any solutions to annoying problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello bmccahon and welcome,

Have you tried a repair of IE? Access is in the Add/Remove applet.

If that doesn't work, you can uninstall your current 5.5 and install a 5.5 SP2 from here: http://cws.internet.com/file/11712.htm

    Regards - Charles

Thanks Charles for your prompt reply.

Had tried repairing IE without success in eliminating the problem. Appreciate your suggestion to uninstall 5.5 and install 5.5 SP2. I hadn't realized that there such a version was available.

Microsoft has IE 6 SP1 available, and MS no longer issues new updates for 5.5 or any other previous versions.
