I am not sure if I have a hardware issue or what. Today I will try and use a different video card but so far asides complete system lockup I have had the follow BSODs
    -parse_fault_in_non_paged_area
    -ircq_not_oss_or_equal
    -pfn_list_corrupt
    -bad_system_config

When I go into the events I see critical errors for something called trial reset service failed to start.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do to stop the glitchy madness? I got this setup recently from some old dude who builds computers in the area. Should I get my money back or work this out?

As this is a new computer as noted in your intro I think your first step should be to get the builder to sort it out - fitness for purpose & all that.

Updated MOBO & vid card drivers

After updating the motherboard and video card drivers I have still had a couple of freezes. Also I removed one video card and it works much better. The boots would just lock up with both connected or the other one. A couple while playing an intensive video game. Another time while I was just simply multi-tasking doing file renames, screening videos and organizing an external hard drive. Otherwise it seems like it is running alright but I will try plugging the second vid card in later on.

I agree with PeteC. The builder of the system should sort this out for you. More than likely it is a problem with compatability between the video cards and the mobo and drivers. Possibly some Bios settings that are also wrong as it still has problems with just one card installed. Have you looked in Event Viewer?

The GeForce 8500 isn't the most modern & was designed in the XP/Vista era. Yes it is Windows 7 compatible... just saying...

Also, you list you motherboard as Asus M2n68 ... M type motherboards are AMD boards, while you list your CPU as an Intel

FWIW my main desktop is running an Asus NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT 512 Mb graphics card on Win 7 Pro x64 without issue. Although not a gamer I am a heavy user of Photoshop - CS3, CS4 & CS5

Markmadras, I did view the event log as I used the computer this past week or so and had numerous freezes while playing music. Nothing intensive. The error I narrowed it down to appears to deal specifically with my video cards and I found this thread dealing with the issue:

    Nvlddmkm Error help?

I haven't tried doing much of what is suggested on this thread. I tried updating my video card drivers, ran all the stuff from the manufacturer. It is definitely more stable than it was at first but it may just be an issue that this particular hardware has.

    Any more thoughts?

I could just do a fresh install sometime but I'm getting comfortable and may just put it off for a while. My programs autosave enough and reboot is so fast it isn't that big of an issue as it is relatively rare.

Your System Specifications are still wrong, as Arie has pointed out this is a AMD AM2+ Motherboard.

A fresh install is very unlikely to cure the problem.

There is no single answer to this problem but the most convincing and relatively easy fix is to replace the nvlddmkm.sys but this doesn't work for everyone.

Delete the nvlddmkm.sys in windows\system32\drivers. Uninstall the drivers for your video card and download and install the latest available. That will replace nvlddmkm.sys with the latest version.

If that doesn't work there are a lot of fixes to try on this site which is dedicated to the same error.

    http://www.nvlddmkm.com/

Have you tried running with each video card on its own, just to see if one is worse than the other.
