For those of you who use Browster, v2.0 is now available. It seems faster, and it has a cleaner interface.

The download is an executable file which installs Browster in the My Programs folder. However, I've discovered that, during the installation, a browster.xpi file is created. If you save your .xpi extension files in a dedicated folder, as I do, the browster.xpi file can be moved there and the Browster program uninstalled in Add/Remove. Then, Browster can be reinstalled from the .xpi file like any other extension.

    Addendum:

Browster 2.0 adds a toolbar with a dropdown menu for options and help and, for some reason, a search window which appears to be identical to the one already present in FF. The toolbar can be easily hidden from FF's View > Toolbars menu.

If, like me, you're sometimes annoyed by unwanted Browster windows opening when your mouse pointer passes over links, 2.0 provides an option which requires you to click on a link's Browster icon for the window to open. I find that quite user-friendly.

    Great find, Jim!
I like the fact that you can now click on links within Browster windows. Browster windows seem to open up faster for me with this new version, too.
I haven't experimented with 'options' yet, but I like the sound being able to click on a Browster icon for the window to open - while I love Browster overall, it does irritate me that the windows sometimes open when the mouse pointer passes over the links!
