When I attempt to run a BootVis trace, the program returns the error message, "Number of Physical drives in the trace file is 0. Trace file has invalid system configuration information ". Any idea how I can fix this?

Do not use Bootvis. It is not supported by Microsoft anymore for reasons, including that its results are no longer accurate with modern processors, it can do more harm then good in optomization, and can leave open logging enabled that can lead to files being created at startup that may grow to several gigabytes in size.

The basics of Bootvis optomization are available from the command line anyway:

    Start, Run, Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

This runs in the background and nothing exciting will appear to happen. There are no messages. Please let your machine run for about 15 minutes to be certain the Idle Time task is completed.

Thanks for the tip. I'll dump BootVis and run the Idle Time task.
