Bootup&Shutdown Errors

    Hello Everyone,
    Using Windows 98se. In the last two days, every time I boot up and shut down I get the following Error messages.
    Boot up "Runner Error Invalid Back Web application id "7288971 "
    Shut down "Runtime Error C:\windows\logon.EXE Abnormal Program Termination" Any help appreciated.

    This is an auto-update facility used by various parties - including Compaq, HP, McAfee at one time, and I am sure many others. The home web site is http://www.backweb.com/

    To eliminate, run msconfig (Start > Run > msconfig), find the program listed under Startup, and eliminate it starting up (by unchecking the check-box).
