Is there a way to boot a user off at a certain hour or time of day ?

I have the "logoff.exe" command set up in task scheduler but it is easily stopped when the screen comes up to end program. Is there a "reboot" command or other way in XP to shut down a limited user at a certain time when they are logged in ?

    Thanks,
    Keith

There is inexpensive software to make the job easier. For example, Sleepy: http://iconico.com/sleepy/

You could schedule the shutdown.exe command.

Create a small file with a .CMD extension in notepad:

    shutdown -r -f

save this as stop_user.cmd in notepad. (be sure notepad does not save this as stop_user.cmd.txt If it does, highlight the file in Windows Explorer, hit F2, and rename the file). You use Task Scheduler to schedule the file stop_user.cmd for the days/hours you wish.

For this to have any effect, you need to set allowable logon hours for the user as well:

When the machine reboots (because of your scheduled task) the user will not be allowed to logon again if within the hours you restrict.
