I am trying to create a bootable dvd containing a system restore image and the program required to use this, to replace a hard drive that has crashed.

I have tried ImgBurn and PowerISO and when I try the bootable DVD these create, neither work. With each I get the message 'Ntldr missing' or similar.

Can anyone tell me what files should be included on the disc?

    Many thanks.

Hi BreezyCricket, We will need more info - OS and whether you have a backup.
Have a look here: "NTLDR is Missing "
    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm
This problem is with XP/2000 OS's when I did a Google search. Neil.

    Thank you for the reply.

I have a Lenovo S10 Netbook and am trying to install a new drive. I have 2 disks, one with a gho system recovery file and the other with the 'Ghost' program files for restoring this.

I have tried both the ImgBurn and PowerISO programs to create a bootable DVD and included all the files I need for the recovery but neither of the disks work. I get the ntldr missing message with both.

If it makes any difference, the O/S I am trying to install is Windows XP (Home, I think), and I created the bootable disc with Windows 10.

You should be able to create the bootable dvd using the ghost program, no need for a 3rd party writer. What version of ghost are you using?

Thanks to all for the replies.

I didn't resolve this but have decided to scrap the idea.
