For about the last week on bootup my clock and date settings boot to 2009.
I have replaced the CMOS battery and adjusted the time but this does not seem to have fixed the problem, unless of course the replacement battery was a dud.

    Any other possible explanations.

    Thanking you

Did you adjust the time in the BIOS?

Guessing you have the battery right side up...Guessing you got an exact replacement battery.

Try a different battery from a different store.
