There had also been more BlueScreen reboots with different logs, but i'm not sure if they're all caused by the same thing..

Hope this helps finding the problem.. :(

    Hope there's a solution to this. :(

But one thing that i've been wondering is if the driver for my Chaintech GeForce 6200 AGP video card could be the cause of this. Though I have some doubts that this could be the cause of the problem too, so i'm not sure.

Ill jump into this thread aswell & add that Vista randomly crashes on me all the time :s

Ill get a dump for you guys to look at later (when im home)

    But basically:
I thought i had a stable system eg. I ran memtest for 10 hours without an issue. yet windows would randomly crash :s. didn;t matter if running prime95 or doing nothing at all. So i decided to try everytrhing i could think of. & after running memtest for 30 hours straight i discovered 2 errors popped up on the 36th pass :s. to me that seems like a very low amount of errors but anyways I clocked my ram speed down. Tested again & got 0 errors. Vista was still crashing (it just restarts :s no blue screen just off & then back on) so i decided to run XP on the system. XP was stable for 5 days straight before my ram chucked a spastic & decided it was going to error like crazy in memtest. Strangley i fixed this problem by reducing the manufacturers speced voltage for my ram or 2.2V down to 2.1V in BIOS. Not sure how this makes any sense seeing as the ram wasn;t stavble at 2.1 before but is now :s. Anyways the system is now stable again in XP. But still randomly crashes in Vista.

I had a pervious problem in Vista before with my display drivers crashing all teh time & eventualy leading to a blue screen & restart. But ive managed to get rid of that & am now just left with random vista restarts.

    System specs:

CPU : Q6600 (ive tried running at stock speed upto 3.3Ghz nothing makes any diffrence still crashes when it feels like it)

RAM : Patriot Extreme DDR2-8000. running at 700Mhz 3-3-3-3 T1 at the moment. Ive tried faster slower. in sync out, of sync, slacker timings. More voltage, less voltage & nothing seems to help. (manufacturers specs are 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 2T @ 2.2VZ)

    GFX : 8800GTX

    Mobo : Asus P5N32-e SLI

    PSU : Zalman 600W

Ive tired turning on & off linkboost. All the spread spectrum controls, Speed step etc. Ive tried increasing & decreasing CPU, NB, SB, CPU VTT & HT voltages. I thought the northbridge may have been overheating coz it was to hot to touch. So ive got a better cooler on that now & it never goes above 40 degrees.

If anyone got any sugestions i'll try anything. I'll also post a crash log later.

    Thanks,
    Ben

AnimeSpiritZ, only a big "maybe ". You seem to have the Sonic burning application installed or the DivX player or a Veritas based application running/controlling your CD/DVD burner, uninstall it. Find drivers for IDE controllers (you seem to have a VIA chipset) and update the drivers. If it is a VIA chipset, get Vista drivers from VIA.

My "theory" is that there is a problem in the IDE controller drivers and this might not be as simple as it sounds because burning hardware is not controlled like a normal drive.

If you have any of the (burning) software I mentioned, and it was made for a previous version of Windows, I would suspect it.

Both of the dumps refer to driver problems (immediately after you invoke the !analyze -v command) - so I'd suspect drivers.

The easiest thing to do is to recall what you did when this problem started (but I know it's not as easy as it sounds!) Have you recently updated or installed any drivers or programs? If so, they may be the cause of this.

I suspect the same thing as mattman does - so I'd suggest looking for something that was done recently that affects the IDE controller drivers (such as burning software or driver updates).

ok, I have checked through my programs and found that none of those softwares mentioned had been installed, so I proceeded with finding VIA drivers.
My current VIA chipsets are "Northbridge: VIA PT880 Ultra" and "Southbridge: VIA VT8237A "
And I have just downloaded this driver: http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=420&OSID=36&CatID=3170
"Version 5.12A of the Hyperion Pro drivers "
Will this most likely solve my problem? Or did I download the wrong driver? I just wanted to make sure before I proceeded with the installation.

Update: I have sucessfully updated all my IDE Drivers, and checked with DriverAgent, confirming that they are the most up-to-date drivers. But now that I have updated my IDE driver, my PC doesnt seem to be detecting my second hard drive unless I uninstall the driver. It doesnt seem to be appearing on the Disk Management either. I have still yet to verify if this driver the solution to my bluescreen reboots.

I would try booting into Safe Mode and see if the drive was detected there, if so, do Error Checking (chkdsk) on all the drives on that HDD.

If it is not detected, I would get the drive testing utilities from the HDD manufacturer and run those.

To test whether the second drive is causing the blue screens, you should be able to disconnect it and then see if Vista is completely stable (is it a storage/backup drive or maybe brought over from your previous computer?)

I thought that the BlueScreen problem had been over now, since it hasnt happened in a few days, but I had just encountered it yet again just now. I have updated my "VIA Bus Master IDE Controller - 0571" driver, but not my "VIA Serial ATA Controller - 0591" driver, due to the possibility that they may end up being undetected again, and me not knowing how to scan the HDDs, I cant do anything about that part. I bought all the HDDs myself (OEM), but they were used on my older computer before.

Hi AnimeSpiritZ, sorry I missed respondinding to your previous reply (#9, lost track I suppose  )

That last dump does not have the correct symbols available, so
maybe not :) See if you can get it read using the correct symbols. (Were you online at the time of debugging?)

Debug each of them. Check if there is a pattern (look at the main information in the first section).

Win32k.sys is a main Windows driver file. I relate main system file "bugs" back to a hardware problem, but with the symbols not being available, it is not possible to tell what else may be happening.

Maybe we are on the right track , BUT and that is a big but, the problem may not be in the HDD controllers, it may not be in the formatting/file system information, it may be in the partitioning information of the drive since you originally partitioned (set up) the drive on another computer.
    Start (orb) -> Computer -> right-click on the drive/volume -> Properties -> Tools (tab) -> Error-checking.

    Matt
