I have been running XP Pro for about 3 weeks without a problem. I went to turn it on and I received a blue screen message as follows:
    STOP: 0X0000007E(0XC0000005,0X805B1E97,0XFC8D30C4,
    0XFC8D2DC4)
Disable driver or check with mfgr for driver upgrade.
    Try changing video adapter
Check with hardware vendor BIOS Updates-Diasable BIOS Memory options such as Caching or Shadowing.

I have tried to reinstall a cdrom for repairing, making the cdrom 1st boot...No way
    Tried to safe mode...no way
Tried to go to the last good config...no way.
cmos, but don not know what tto do and how 1st.
Don't know how to get to the areas they suggest to disable a driver.. Help!!
    Thank you

If you are having a problem similar to mine you may well be *******. I've had crashes that have resulted in the same symptom. You can boot from the CD and reinstall XP (there is an option to repair, I don't mean the recovery console option). I was never successful with that when I had the same symptom. I was not even able to install a fresh copy of XP keeping the same filesystem. I had to format and install.

I posted my problem. While your crash sounds different the resulting mess sounds identical.

This sounds like some kind of hardware problem for both of you.

Remove all hardware you don't absolutely need. Use onboard video if available and remove any added vid cards. If you have more than one stick of memory, try removing one, trying your system without it, and then exchanging them, to see if one is faulty. Or try memtest86 ( http://www.memtest86.com/#download0 ).

Check connections----unplug your IDE cables, memory sticks, PCI cards, etc. and plug them back in to be sure they are firmly seated.

Check the cooling fan on the CPU to be sure the heat sink is making good contact. Put conductive compound between them if there isn't any already (Arctic Silver, etc.).

Try taking the side off your case and using a small fan to blow on the CPU and nearby components (vid card) to see if the added cooling makes any difference.

Check your BIOS for a hardware monitor that gives temperatures. Download Aida32 if you can get into Windows ( http://www.aida32.hu/download/aida32pe_340.exe ) and see what the sensors say for temp. (They aren't always right---the fan method is still a good idea).

Sorry I can't just pull a rabbit out of a hat, but you'll understand that there isn't much to go on.
