Yesterday morning I ran antivirus, Spybot, Adaware, and defrag. Was not on the Internet for the rest of the day. Made Backups to DVD's. This morning at startup, computer started restarting. No blue screen or Safemode. Automatically Restart is turned off. I was forced to reload XP SP2 from CD'S. Reloaded many things from DVD's. Was able to reload some pictures, but not all. Most of the reloads were .jpg. Very few .bmp loaded. Those are the most needed. The errors shown are "Error (CyclicRedundancy Check) ". I tried copying DVD, but could not. Do not know what else to try.

That probably means that your drive is having a problem clearly reading the CD or DVD. That can vary with drives so try it on another drive if you have one available. Check the disk for smudges and clean if needed.

    Also please see.

I tried the DVD on another drive and it does not work there either. I found another DVD that has been around quite awhile, and it does not work. I have four others that work just fine. Each one has been burned just once. I cleaned this one and it does not help. I downloaded CDCheck and ran it. Ran for about 4 hours, and it said it still needs 2 more hours. I shut it off and maybe run it again some other time when I have at least 8 hours.

I ran CD Check on several folders. It found many errors, but it did not fix any. I do not know if it can, or how to make it do it. I still have many folders that will not operate.
