    Running Outlook Express 6.
    How do I backup my emails to a memory stick or to another computer on my network.
    Also how would I then restore them?

    The .dbx files are located here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E5C4B58E-0072-4A0E-BA21-DD32793F2322}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

    Can simply copy n paste them..Might want to zip em first....

    To restore, you'd click on File->Import and drill down to the backup location.

    I have tried finding the .dbx files but they don't show up under windows explorer. MS version of backup seems incredibly complicated, why can't we have just 'Backup and Restore' commands.
    What I want to do is backup the whole of Outlook Express to another computer, why is it so difficult?

    It's not difficult if you know how or read the articles above....

    Your email files are hidden files.....

    In Win Explorer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab->

    There are three boxes about hiding files. Disable of of them. Then you'll be able to see the files.

    *.dbx files are hidden - you will need to enable Show hidden Files and Folders under Tools > Folder Options > View in Windows Explorer.

    The path is C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{C59F40B5-82BD-4533-823D-3649E60C0AEF}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Folders.dbx

    The numeric string will most likely be different for you.
