Background Intelligent Transfer Service

    i have discovered why i beleive my computer will not download updates


    Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is not running.
    • BITS cannot successfully connect to the Web site.

    i have tried turning on in misc services with no joy.

    The Background Intelligent Transfer Service should be set to Manual. It is not needed unless you are updating Windows Automatically.

    Note that it depends on RPC (Remote Procedure Call) which should be set to Automatic and you should find it running if set that way. Check out the setting for RPC.
