Symantec AntiVirus Notification keeps showing the following:

    Scan type: Auto-Protect Scan
    Event: Threat Found!
    Threat: Backdoor.Spyboter.A
    File: C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\SYMANTEC\SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS CORPORATE EDITION\7.5\APTEMP\APQ6.TMP
    Location: C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\SYMANTEC\SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS CORPORATE EDITION\7.5\APTEMP
    User: SYSTEM
Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine failed : Delete succeeded : Access denied

This message remains on screen. I already turned off system restore like the symantic site said to do, but all scans still report no problem- what should I do next? (The location listed above is for the antivirus correct and not the threat? or is it the location of the threat and I should delete the whole APTEMP folder (which has a lot of files in it)?)

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,
Before attempting to delete anything, go to start, control panel, folder options, click on view, scroll down and select "show hidden files & folders" and click apply then okay...Run your virus scan again...Keep us posted

I would double check their manual cleanup instructions.

    However this
    File: C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\SYMANTEC\SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS CORPORATE EDITION\7.5\APTEMP\APQ6.TMP
makes me suspect it is a false positive, detecting the definition in an update as the virus.

Update definitions, do a full system scan.
Repeat in safe mode if needed.
