    when I turn on my computer I get this error message
    AVRSYNMGR on the title bar and then this message; This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists contact the program vendor.
    how do I get rid of it? what does it mean?

    Seems like something got left behind from something you installed.
    Find a program called sysedit.exe on the PC and double click it to
    load. Check all the start-up files/entries and remove
    AVRSYNMGR
    if you find it.
    Maybe a registry item, but we will look at that when you post
    back ...
    regards

    If this is a typo and the file referenced is meant to be avsynmgr, perhaps a closer look at McAfee Virus Program should be done. Installed an update .dat file lately? Possible Virus? Something not getting along with McAfee?

    This is meant to point you in the right direction, if applicable.

    Disabling this may need to be thunk-over some more.

    ==================
    Any details button included with this error? Perhaps it is not Avsynmgr that is the problem but the program associated with the file revealed by the Details button.
