Do you mean you can't View/Play them?
What happens when you try? (they should work ok with media player)

Bring up Media Player, then under "Tools" select "Options" and select the tab called "File Types ".... Make sure there is a check in the box next to "Windows Media Video (AVI)...
    That should fix your problem.....
You may also have to change the setting in RealPlayer (uncheck it) aswell...

sounds to be a missing codec issue. u must have the codec to playback anything really. so ... if x file was encoded w/ y codec, u have to get y codec to view it.

try klite mega codec pak and just 'yes' it thru the install. then see if u can play it. it includes both media player classic and realplayer hack. as well as just about all the top codecs available.
