I have automatic update turned on, and first got SP2 this way...downloaded and installed, but then found out HP had some updates to run BEFORE installing SP2, so I uninstalled SP2 as per their instructions, and installed their updates to three programs/drivers for my computer. Now I'm wondering, will automatic update notice that I don't have SP2 again, and send it to me, or will I have to go to Microsoft Windows Update site and download it manually? THANKS!!
    Barb

I think I'd pick up a copy of the SP2 CD (staples, office max, and a few other places should have copies to give away) and install from the CD.

drewbarbpi--Just guessing, but if you have uninstalled SP2, I would think you could get the version tailored for your PC by going to Windows Update. Or if they tell you to wait, then set Automatic Updates to notify you and hope for the best (for a while anyway). I think that CD installs a lot more than most people need unless you know how to pick and choose. Maybe Newt could comment on that.
