I look back to 2003 and did not find a fix.

My taskbar will not auto hide. I have right clicked the bar and selected properties. I have unchecked auto-hide and apply. I reselect auto-hide and apply and the taskbar hides. As soon as I move the pointer down to bring up the taskbar, it appears and will not hide anymore. It is actually blocking some of my screen.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Regards,
    Fredy

you say that you have "un-checked" auto hide the task bar. i think you NEED a check mark in there for it to work, then click apply, ok. that should do it?

Sorry, XP Pro. Startup has AdSubtract Pro.

After removing check mark and applying, I checked the box again and applied. My wording might have been a little off on the previous post. This only works one time. The taskbar will lock-up the next time I access it.

I started system in safe mode as administrator and went to taskbar propeties. The Autohide Taskbar was not selected. After selecting this feature the taskbar autohide work correctly. I restarted the system normaly and now the autohide is working correctly in normal start-up. Why?

wish i knew the why answer but i don't. i'd suspect either a profile issue or a startup one.
