    Hello:
I copied the following post after doing a search on this site for answers pertaining to a SUWIN error that I get when trying to reload win ME. The problem is, is that I do not know how to find and delete the suggested file by using DOS. I get to the C:\ prompt in DOS, but then I am usure how to proceed. Any help much appreciated, Tom

The following is a copy of the post:

    Hello meissy56,

I wouldn't delete, rather rename, the safest way to handle a situation like this, plus copy out to a floppy before doing anything- add a charcater in front of .dll

To the system, once renamed, its gone.

You might have to do this in safe mode.

    Regards - Charles

    How to rename in dos.
    ren filename.dll filename.old
    To delete:
    del filename.ext
Renaming is the better way, sort of like a fail safe for the reason when you delete a file in dos, it is done immediately. Suppose you make a typo and delete the wrong file? Forget about Recycle Bin, it never makes it there, no prompt as to "Are you sure? "
