I archived emails to CD some time ago (following Ramona's guide in Netscape and Mozilla solutions) and it worked really well, but now I'm using Thunderbird 1.5 they're no longer showing in the archive folder. Any ideas on how I can see them again?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, Ann Hewitt!

    Ann,

It works exactly the same way in Thunderbird, and in fact I already have a dummy CD account set up. Is this how you set up the account in Thunderbird:

    Screen Shot 1
    Screen Shot 2
    Screen Shot 3

  3. to hide this advert.

Sorry Ramona, I don't think I explained properly. The archive CD was set up in Thunderbird as shown in your screen shots, but the emails were created (and copied across) in an earlier version of and the 1.5 version doesn't show them. I can continue to copy emails across now and they show up, but the earlier ones don't. The files are definitely on the CD but the folders under "archive" in Thunderbird are empty. Have you come across this before?

    Ann,

I'm a bit bleary eyed, as it is 3:30 a.m. my time. I've not had the problem you've described, and after some sleep I'll read your problem again, and help you see your archived Mail on CD.

    Ann,

I've been experimenting with the Archiving on CD, and I absolutely can't duplicate your problems? I am able to read all the Netscape Mail files in Thunderbird, and all Thunderbird Mail files in Netscape 7.2, on my Archive CD.

The only thing I can think of is that you might be forgetting to change the "Local directory" name in the Server Settings.

I have my Thunderbird messages in a CDArchiveTB folder on the Archive CD,
and my Netscape messages in a CDArchiveNS folder on the Archive CD.

To view the Netscape messages in Thunderbird, I change the "Local directory" path to: "CDArchiveNS ", and vice versa.

I obviously did something wrong when I originally archived them, although they worked fine until I upgraded Thunderbird.
    Thanks for trying!
