    specs
    AMD 4600+ X2
    M2N-SLI Deluxe
    GeForce 7900 GTX
    2 gig ram
    on board lan
    SATA HD 320gigs
    OS=XPPro

I had gutted my old hardware from my comp. The specs listed above are the new specs. I did not reinstall my OS(i think i need to for this) howeveri am using the same configeration on my hd from the last hardware. i installed all the drivers and have restarted the comp. after the restart i keep getting an error.

I used IE to get the error. The error is the same for any program that is trying to be ran.
    "IEXPLORE.EXE" Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000 ". The memory could not be "read ".

would anyone be of asistance and help me get this corrected. im not sure what went wrong. i did everything thing like normal to install the the hardware and installed all the drivers properly. the only thing that was changed in this was i didnt reinstall a fresh OS. i didnt think it was needed to do so.

the new memory was compatable with the board that was bought with it. the old memory from the previous hardware was put into the new hard ware and i ran memtest86 on both sets of memory both sets tested fine. no errors. i am thinking its the mobo that was used. (its no good)

    please advise
    Thanks

    Mike.

Possibly - not something that I have tried. Give it a go, but read each screen very carefully before committing to the next :)

There is a screen by screen walkthrough here

Any CD should work, as long as it belongs to the same 'group' as in Retail, OEM, Upgrade, etc.

I've done this many many times.

The problem is with drivers that are incorrect. The real-mode low level kernel drivers are not auto detected like, lets say a USB mouse, etc.

In the event it still gives you a headache, re-install the OS over itself. It will preserve 95% of the data on your drive.
