My old AOpen desktop had been working fine. I turned it on today and nothing happens. The power unit and cpu fans come on; the HHD panel light flickers once; the CD-ROM light flickers one time then nothing. No POST or any type of screen at all. It turns off normally from the panel switch. I was in BIOS earlier in the day but did not make any changes and am sure that I hit the 'Exit without Save'. By the way, the A-drive light never flickers at all when I turn the power on. Is this what happens when the BIOS chip dies? Is there something else I can check for with no POST screen. I tried the monitor on another pc and it was ok. I even disconnected all IDE cables, took out all PCI cards (except monitor) and powered up with nothing but the motherboard and monitor attached...still no POST. Whoo is me, what could it be?

Just to be sure that you didn't do something in bios by mistake clear the CMOS... Disconnect the power cable to the motherboard and pull the battery. Let it sit for awhile and put it back together. While your at it pull the video card and clean the contacts and re-seat.

    It's Alive, It's Alive!

Thank's everbody it's now alive and working again. I tried all your suggestions and nothing worked. So after h ours of proke and probe I found the problem...by accident of course. The HHD LED wire was pluggen in one pin too far right. Wow, it's the little things that give you the most trouble. I had been inside the tower cleaning dust off all the fans and had to move around some wires to complete the job. When I put everything back together I did not put everything back right. I am really relieved. I even tried another video card. Boy was I getting irate. Anyway the pc is working great now. One again thank's for the help.
