    Hello

I've just set up a wireless network at home and there's one problem I hope someone can help me with:

    The system comprises:
    NTL cable modem
    Linksys Wireless G Router
Windows XP PC hardwired to router
Windows XP PC with Linksys Wireless G PCI card

The hardwired PC can access the internet with no problems. The wireless PC can find and join the network (excellent signal strength) and appears to work fine. However, after exactly 3 minutes the connection is lost and has to be established manually again. This happens even if I'm in the middle of a download so it's not an inactivity thing. I can't find where I can change this 3 minute setting (if it exists!)

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks

Have you tried unchecking 802.1x authentication?

    It Worked!!

Thanks Unixfan - that worked. Now my wife is a happy bunny as she can use her new PC fully.

Out of interest - if I am using WEP, does using 802.1x authentication too cause some sort of conflict? What causes the timeout?

    Cheers!:)
