    Hi
I have installed the ATI software for the 'All in Wonder' card. During the installation I got the message 'DMA for DVD operation may not be enabled.'
The DVD player does'nt work....What is the DMA and how do I get it to work?
    Thanks
    Lewis

DMA = Direct Memory Access and you may also see reference to the newer/faster Ultra DMA (UDMA). Used to speed up communication between a drive and the rest of the PC.

Usually if you have DMA problems things work but poorly with jerky motion or sound. Unusual for that to make if fail altogether but it can happen.

This page is for ATI devices and will allow you to find the problem and to enable DMA if if can be done on your system.
