Hi ya.. Thanks in advance for reading my dribble.

I have an XP machine that is giving me trouble again.

During the load process, it seems to hang at loading "agp400.sys "
All the forums seem to point to using the xp disc to load the recovery console.
The problem I'm having is the tower I bought doesn't have them. The recovery is part of the hard drive partitioned into the D: drive.

    Couple of things I've noticed:

I have this problem after loading NERO..
the blue screen of death says "Unmountable_boot_volume" (could this be related to the ghost dvd drive installed by nero?)

The system won't load in safe mode no matter what cuss words I use.

    Thanks again

    Possible fix.

Me again.. may have solved my own problem.

Finally after cussing, got the system to a command prompt in a recovery mode.

Found that the system was hanging at agp400.sys, and there was no file in the drivers so named, but there was a agp440.sys.

Renamed the file and it booted fine into safe mode. I deleted NERO and the machine loaded fine save the missing ATI Video driver (understandable)

Tonight I'll reload the ATI driver tonight.
