Is it possible to transfer one's webmail (i.e. Yahoo) address book to Thunderbird's address book?

That would be up to Yahoo. In most cases it is not possible to do export such address books, and they have to be in an importable format (.ldif, .tab, .cvs and .txt). But you have to be able to export the address book first from Yahoo.

Thanks. It was actually quite simple. Yahoo does allow for importing and exporting .LDIF files. I was able to export them to my computer and then import that file to my Thunderbird address book. Then I had the option of either retaining it as "My Yahoo" address book OR (and I took this option), dragging and dropping each to my Personal Address book, following which I deleted the Yahoo address book from T-bird. It took all of two minutes.

Great! I had to do all sort of tricks to important my AOL AB ( I am dropping that crazy thing, as soon, as I am done, having paid in advance).
