    How do I remove Active X such as the one Microsoft installs on a PC when checking to see what updates are missing?

    I cannot think of one good reason to do that, but if you insist ....

    IE > Tools > Internet Options - General tab > Browsing History > Settings > View Objects. You will find it there.
