    Hello all
Acrobat 3.0 was already installed when I bought my new XP last year. Lately, I get a message "Acrobat plugin, an internal error has occurred" I can't remove the message unless I press ctrl alt del.
Should I update to another version of Acrobat or are there updates that I can add?
As I have said before I am not all that knowledgeable about the computer (but I am improving..lol)
I would once again appreciate your advice.
Also is Acrobat a free download
    Thank you
    Biddie

Is this just the reader? If so, yes, acrobat reader is free and the current version I believe is in the 6's such as 6.02. version 3.0 reader would be quite old in that case. I would uninstall the 3.0 version before downloading and installing the latest.

    Here's a link:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

If this is Adobe Acrobat Full (or any of the flavors this comes in) ie; the program that allows for the conversion and creation of pdf files. Then my guess would be no, to a Free Upgrade. This can be quite a pricey program.

    As to the plugin error....
What are doing or which program are you using at the time of the error?

Well.......I thought at 4:00 in the morning (U.S. central time) I'd be relatively safe at taking a little time in making my post as thorough as need be, but it appears I'm not the only night owl. You've be here and gone before I returned. I will just tuck these google search list away here in case I or you care to use it, in the future.

In the mean time I'll hope the reader upgrade took care of any problem your having.... :)

    .bmp and .text

Thank you Goddez. Yes acrobat 6.0 is great.

I have another question I hope you can help me with.

My computer is so slooow I have tried every means to improve it. (I am getting connected to dll next week). On a site I read where to speed up your computer you can remove all .bmp and .text from files and folders would you recommend doing this?

Also, does McAfee slow the computer down as it has really become slower since I installed it.

What would I do without BBS mailer!
