Well, I keep getting this bsod.. I have no idea how to read into these minidump files but I know its win32k.sys that is causing the crash.

Could someone please give me some insight as to what is causing these BSOD's
Frequency is every 2-4 days. I tried to upload the actual .dmp file but it's not letting me.

Hi, porschedrifter. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

Can you recall any hardware and/or software changes you may have made immediately prior to the time your BSOD crashes started occurring? If so, then I'd be inclined to investigate those first.

    Is "IMAGE_NAME: win32k.sys" always identified?

It seems unlikely win32k.sys is the culprit because that is a Windows system file. I'm inclined to think something else may be improperly using the win32k.sys system driver (or your memory is faulty).

According to AumHa.org, there are several possible reasons for a 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error. Scroll down to that location on the AumHa page for possible explanations, links, and ideas for routes to investigate.

    ==========
In case you decide to test your RAM for errors, all of the following RAM testers have been recommended in this forum. However, opinions differ about which RAM tester is "best ".
If you discover an error with any of these RAM testers and the RAM tester does not identify which RAM module is defective, then re-run the test with only a single RAM module installed until you identify which module is defective. (I am not familiar with the exact information output of any of these RAM testers when they find errors.)

A More Reliable RAM Testing Method:
    1. Remove some of the memory modules from the computer (while the computer is off, of course).
      • For example, if two RAM modules are installed in your computer, remove one of the RAM modules.
    2. Start your computer and see if the problem goes away.
    3. If you continue to have unexpected reboots/BSODs, then replace that RAM module with another module, or install the module in a different memory slot.
    4. Start your computer and see if the problem goes away.
Continue this process to see if you can pinpoint the cause of your problem to a specific RAM module or slot.

Thanks much for your awesome reply. Very informative.

I'm suspecting my memory. I ran memtest86+ the other night but didnt get to see the results because the "press any key to exit" was up. Does that mean that it didnt find any problems?

I just started using A-Data reccomended OC times on my chips. I'm about to start playing around with my AI Clock Skew to see if I can get rid of the bsod's

They seem to happen at random with no particular repeated program being used.

However I believe that these bsod's did start around the same time that I put the optimized timings in. However they were given to me by someone at A-data for my particular chips so they should be supported.

If you are curious the settings are:

    2. Trc 7
    3. Trfc 13

Didn't know you overclocked your RAM. Overclocking certainly can produce instability.

Have you tried resetting the RAM/CPU configuration to stock/default specifications to see if the BSODs stop?

If the BSODs stop occurring after resetting your RAM/CPU to stock/default settings, then I suspect your "optimized timings" are not producing optimal results. ;)

BTW, the Hardware forum is probably a better source of information regarding tweaking your RAM/CPU settings.
