How may I determine a 64 bit machine as opposed to a 32 bit? Purchasing a new machine. Please advise. Thanks for your time.

Look at the sticker/poop sheet/info on the retail machine or web site;)

The majority of machines are 64 bit.
The opertating system on the other hand is a different store. You will usually get and usually only need the 32 bit version.

Currently, just about the only reason to get a 64 bit OS is if you need 4 or more gigs of ram.
