What's the source of the tracks? Downloads from Kazaa or similar application?
The message which pops up at boot! Do any of the items listed under the startup tab relate to software which you no longer have installed?
... or Hosts, IESPYAD, Outpost or Opera.
What do you mean by "small link "? Can you post the URL's for a few of the pages with which you are experiencing problems?

Should be ok - it's only the gopher protocol which you need to redirect to a false proxy. It would appear that the PivX "fix" also addresses...
Run MSCOFIG again and deselect any any entries relating to uninstalled software that still appears in the list. You might find this utility...
