    PeteC - I don't have the CD.:o XP was installed at the tech shop that upgraded my computer in Jan/05. Can't I use SFC some other way?

    Yes I did reboot. Tried it all several times. I should have mentioned I tried the fix at Kelly's-Korner, and yet another at Ask Leo's site....

    I've lost functionality in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and have tried several things - using open with etc, but no go. I THINK this trouble...
