Data recovery service - recommendations?

I have a HDD (~10yo, 750GB, laptop 2.5") which quit working, then it was in a situation (long story) where it was exposed to water. Some data was backed up, but enough was remaining as to warrant wanting to recover what's left, if possible.

This is going to be a homeowners insurance issue, so I'm shopping around for a data recovery service. There are a number of them, all make claims, all, naturally, cost a lot. Does anyone here have enough experience with any of them to make a recommendation? While we are aware any such recovery is expensive, it's best not to be overcharged, and someone who can possibly give an assessment, at a reasonable price, would be nice, if possible.
