i just got my computer back from repair (HDD) failure and am in process of reinstalling programs. I am seeing a slight change in the way the downloads are installing. First, some installs don't produce automatic shortcut icon on desktop. Also, trying to download ITUNES and it doesn't show up in Program Files (x86) or in C:/, no shortcut, doesn't show up in Downloads. Very weird. I installed it before failure and it installed normally as it should showing up in all the right places.

Firefox but I have tried Microsoft Edge and Chrome. Itunes will download from the Apple Store and I can launch it, etc. But it isn't listed in My Downloads, or in Programs Files. To uninstall it I have to go to Control Panel>Apps to uninstall. I have never had this happen before.

I just thought I would try an install of iTunes from MS App Store.
It is installed but does not show in Downloads or Programs and Features.
iTunes shows in the Menu and RIGHT click on the Icon allows an uninstall from there.
My Browser is Firefox by Default but there is no entry for iTunes in the browser History.

Downloads with FF don't go to your desktop.
You can access downloads from your current browsing session by clicking on the Downloads button (the down arrow on your toolbar). The arrow will appear blue [IMG] to let you know there are unviewed downloaded files.

    • During a download, the Downloads button gradually fills with color to show your download's progress.
    • Click on the Downloads button to open the Downloads panel. The Downloads panel displays your three most recently downloaded files, along with its size and download status:

In Firefox > Menu > Options > General > Downloads > you can choose where you want to Save the download to. ;)

I thank all of you for your posts. The strange part of it is that prior to my new MB and HDD I had iTunes loaded and had downloaded it and the shortcut appeared on my desktop and in Programs & Features.

Exactly right and I chose to have mine saved to my Desktop. That way I can easily find them. Have also chosen Desktop with my EDGE browser and my Vivaldi browser.
