Jim, Post #9 was what I used with XP on one HDD and Vista on a HDD and W7 on another.
On each "boot" of the comp I was able to select which OS I wanted to use as the Menu came up on the screen first.
This may be your best choice as it does work.

I have EasyBCD installed but, so far, I haven't been able to get it to work. Guess I'll have to read the instructions, instead of just winging it. I also have their iReboot installed, with the icon in the systray, but it doesn't work, either.

Well, you've lost me and I'm sorry for "helping" you make a mess of it. Try to get the drive lettering back to how it was when you installed the operating systems. Next, keep you fingers crossed until someone who really knows something chimes in!

Christer, you have nothing to be sorry for, and the paragraph you quoted was followed by this paragraph :
"As much as I would have liked your approach to work, it didn't, which is when I got the "LTDR is missing" message. So, I put all the drive letters back to the way they were, and now my computer boots into Win7 just as it did before this all started."

Let me see if I can explain my re-lettering scheme a bit better. My Win7 system, on one SSD, is set up with four partitions, C:, D:, E:, and F:. The Win10 installation, on the second SSD, is in a single partition, labeled G:. In order for me to assign the letter D: to Win10, I had to bump each of the D:, E:, and F: partitions in Win7 up a letter, to E:, F:, and G:, respectively. But, because G: was already assigned to Win10 on the second SSD, I had to change it to something else temporarily, and I chose X:.

After changing the letters on the Win7 drive I re-lettered the Win10 partition from X: to D:, in keeping with your C: and D: set-up. I found that while I could boot into Win7, when I tried to boot into Win10 I got the "LTDR is missing" message. So, as I said earlier, I put all the drive letters back to the way they were, and now my computer boots into Win7 just as it did before this all started.

Ever the optimist (it's been said that an optimist sees the glass as half full, while a pessimist sees it as half empty, when in fact, an optimist realizes that the glass can be re-filled), I'm hopeful that a solution can be found.

If you find no solution here, sign up at "my other computer forum" (see the link in my signature). There's a guy called Brian who will be more than willing to help, I guess. PC Hardware + Software (except Cloning programs) would be the spot.

Thanks, Christer. Unfortunately, the colors used (black background, white/blue/green text) make it almost impossible for these tired old eyes to read anything, and I can find no way to change them to anything else.

You have to sign up as a user and in User CP > Profile > Options, change the Template to whichever works for you.

Well, I can't find the option to register an account. I'll try to find out if the forum no longer accepts new members.

I noticed that the site is copyrighted only until 2009, over 10 years ago, though I don't know if that's in any way meaningful.

I have admin access and checked the most recent version of the forum software (2.6) which is from 2014 but RADIFIED has not been updated from version 2.4. The guy who owns the site has not been around for quite some time!

Jim, if you'd like, I can manually add you as a member over at RADIFIED.

Please do it. I’m not on my PC right now, which is why I didn’t edit your quote like I usually do. 8^)

PM me an email addy to send the automated verification mail. You also need a user name for the account and if you wish, a different displayed name. (I don't know why that routine is in place but i choose the same for both the account name and displayed name.)

I can't find a way to PM you from the forum, nor can I find an email address for you. Any suggestions?

I discussed the issue with different account name and displayed name and this is what I was told:

At the upper right, there is an "envelope" which is the PM-function. You can also click my username and next click "Start a Conversation".

    I'll try to PM you!
