Was not sure if this is Win10 or networking related. My Lenovo Yoga (8 GB; 512 GB drive; i7 processor;Intel dual-band wireless AC-7260 adapter) frequently needs to have Network Troubleshooting done in order to regain Internet access. I can work on the laptop for a while, and if I go away and come back, I usually have to run the troubleshooter in order to get connected again. It tells me it had to reset the network adapter.
Wondering what is going on that causes this to happen. Is there a setting I'm missing in order to keep the adapter from losing connection to the Internet? I don't lose the connections while actively working.

Look in the Control Panel-> Device Manager-> Network adaptors ->Power Management and disable the power saving option.

Settings were already 'off' for the wireless adapter. Although this is the only device currently operating that is having a wireless issue, it 'may' be time to restart the router. :-(

Never hurts to restart the router. Very simple operation. Another thing you might try is uninstall the network adapter driver, and then restart your computer. Windows will automatically install the latest driver.

Well, I restarted the router, and it still is doing the same thing. It just 'loses' connectivity to the Internet for no reason. When running the troubleshooter, it says it's resetting the network adapter (why?) and then that the gateway was not reachable. Once the troubleshooter is done, all is well again. This all started just a couple weeks ago, and I have no clue what changed to cause the issue.

Have you updated the driver for the Network Adapter?

Have checked, says it is the most current available, even from the Intel site.

Just did that. Seems to be the same driver I had already from 2019. Will see if it makes any difference however.

Did a firmware upgrade on my router as well. Still having issues as the adapter just loses the connection as the computer sits.

Does the computer itself go to sleep prior to this happening? If so - disable that.

I'm normally plugged in, so I have it set to never power off, but screen to go off after 60 minutes of inactivity.

Have you re-checked the advice Steve suggested in Post #2?
As you have Refreshed the driver it may have been reset to Default.

Yes, have done everything suggested so far. Changed power settings as well:

But still had it happen this morning about 15 minutes ago. Frustrating as to what else to do or check.

I have just experienced a similar problem today with Internet not connecting. I had 2 or 3 slow to connect then I couldn't get a connection!
I went into Diagnostics with the Fritzbox 7360 Router/Modem and the diagnosis suggested a loss of DSL.
I rang my ISP who checked the system and after following instructions on Reset to Factory Defaults, we came to the conclusion that the Fritzbox unit was faulty.
Fortunately my son had an Asus unit and we connected that and everything is back to normal. ;)
I now find that my laptop connects quicker than it did before.
May be worth trying another Modem/Router if you can as mine had been slowly packing up as my son said he had noticed drop outs when he was working from home but hadn't mentioned it.

Yes, that is indeed on my 'thinking about' list. Just difficult to determine the 'best' unit to buy at a reasonable price. I've researched quite a bit on the major 'testing' sites but they all differ on their selections as 'best', although the NightHawk 1900 sticks out frequently. Also some ASUS models. <sigh>

Do you edit each and every item under Network adaptors?

This is REAL OLD problem that you're having.....even before wireless was invented.

You might even look at the same properties of the Mouse and Keyboard.

I've looked at all the settings, yes, and made sure they are 'accurate.' Surprisingly, the problem has not reared up for about two days now (jinx!) so I guess I can perhaps consider the issued resolved - for now anyway.
