Bobby, just a silly question, when you are finished with a session on BBS, do you Log off/Sign off or just close the page?

RL, I have always closed sessions by clicking the X top right. I did not realise that you could Log Off/Sign Off as they don't appear to be availlable options on my BBS set up.

Click on your name near the top right hand side of the forums and there is an option to Log Off.

Bill, click my name top right hand side, there is Log out at bottom of list. Clicking Log out, closes current window in use, but not BBS in general and requires me close session as normal.

MrBill, If I Hover my mouse over the small Avatar on the BLUE bar at the top right of this page - My Profile Page shows.
If I click on LOGOUT - I am then viewing as a GUEST! It is instantaneous.
I must now LOGIN/SIGN IN/REGISTER with WindowsBBS again.
This is why I mentioned that if Bobby had accidentally LOGGED OUT, he would be presented with the option to LOGIN/SIGN IN/ REGISTER with WindowsBBS again.
I will stand corrected if I am wrong and apologize in advance.

RL, one way or the other, each log in is as a Guest and why clicking the small box [] fails to be recognised. As it seems, no other members appear to have this problem, or they just ignore it. It would appear, that my copy has in some way become corrupted.

No, you probably have software that deletes the WindowsBBS cookie...

Thanks Arie. This confirms what is Posted in #'s 7,8 and 9 which is what Christer suggested.
Bobby, your call - continue with your cookie software delete or just accept cookies.

Do you use CCleaner (**** cleaner)?

I stopped using CCleaner Pro when Periform was taken over by Avast, who in turn fostered its anti-virus into my computer. Avast, caused much trouble to my computer, and promptly discarded. What is the reason causing the ticked box in the sign in, to be ignored? As it now looks, I will just have to continue in signing at each session of WindowsBBS.

You have something cleaning cookies on your PC. What it is, I don't know. Can you get a list of what programs you have on there?

Bill, I use a program called PrivaZer instead of CCleaner, Malwarebyte and RevoUninstaller. All of which have caused no problems and use before Windowbbs trouble started this week,

After further checking found PrivaZer required Cookies to be set at manual and Cookies box be unticked. It was, also required that WindowsBBS to be reinstalled. After several computer restarts, that error has been corrected. Thanks to all for their interest and help.

Apparently since my last Post, error is still relevant and back to square one.

I'm not sure I know what you mean. WindowsBBS is not a program, it's a website to which you create a link. Am I missing something here?

What I am referring, is if I click WindowsBBS icon saved on my Desktop it opens BBS, but I am required to sign in. If on the other hand I click BBS directly from the Web, then I am directly signed in. I can not fathom out as to why this is happening, maybe someone can.

When you're logged in "directly from the web", create a new link and send it to your desktop. Close the browser, reopen and try to log in using the new link. If successful, get rid of the old link.

Carried out step suggested. Clicking new processed link, opens exactly the same way as previously and still requires to sign in. Clicking box "Stay Logged in", as all previous sign in, requires box to be ticked. It appears that this has no effect what so ever.

Christer, thanks for your response. I have tried it, it opens WindowsBBS, but I still require to sign in. Though [Stay Logged in] was tick at previous session, this time was again unticked. It looks like, I will have to continue with sign in each time, an inconvenience to be put up with.
