Resolved Windows Live Mail Lockup

Up until a couple of days ago my Windows Live Mail worked just fine. Now after a few seconds the program locks up. By locking up I mean the program freezes. After that point I have to re-boot the computer to get out of the Live email program and continue using the computer.
It's long past time to move to Thunderbird and move on. I've installed that but, I cannot save my messages or contacts to export as the Live email program won't work long enough to save that data.
My first thought is that I may be dealing with a corrupted file some where.

 

Have you tried importing your mail to TB?
It's a while since I had to set up TB, but I think it will import your mail during the setup process.
I may stand to be corrected but it's worth a go.

 

That was the first thing I tried. What really stymies me is that Windows Live Mail won't run long enough for me to store my contact list and Emails.
Of course, Windows Live Essentials was a downloadable accessory and I have no disc of it so I can reinstall the program. Windows doesn't support Live anymore so going there won't help. If I could find this data in Windows Explorer I might be able to transfer it to TB.

Thunderbird 60 was not able to import my Contacts and emails, I was able to recover both and save in another folder. The Contacts I can enter into Thunderbird manually. No big deal. Thunderbird did convert the emails to the Thunderbird format. It just wasn't able to import them.
